We have several areas of ministry at Stratmoor Hills United Methodist Church (SHUMC). Below is a summary of our ministries. More detailed information will be posted soon.
The 9:15 Service is a Traditional Service where we pray, share Bible scripture, sing hymns, and receive a relevant message of hope and encouragement. The Traditional Service features the Chancel Choir.
Children join us in the beginning of the Traditional service and then go to their Sunday School class following the Children’s Sermon.
The 11:00 Service is a Casual-Contemporary Service where were dress casually, sing contemporary praise and worship songs led by the Praise Team, and share God’s grace in an informal worship service.
Children go directly to their Sunday School class upon arrival and then join us toward the end of the Contemporary service for a special Children’s message and time of celebration.
Nursery is available for children ages 3 years and under, and Sunday School for ages 4 and up.
Everyone is invited to join us Sunday mornings for fellowship in the downstairs Fellowship Hall at 10:15 am and in the upstairs Foyer following the Contemporary Service.
When a month has 5 Sundays, we host one combined service followed by a potluck dinner. Services for Fifth Sundays begin at 10 am with Potluck Dinner Following.
We offer a mid-week Fellowship & Bible Study on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 pm in the downstairs Fellowship Hall. No preparation is required for this study. You’re invited every time or anytime. If you’re new to studying the Bible, if you’re well versed, or if you’re looking for a mid-week fellowship, we welcome you.
We have an active Youth Group, Men’s Devotional Breakfast, United Methodist Women’s group, Chancel Choir, and Praise Team.
We also support the Stratmoor Hills Community Food Pantry. The Food Pantry ministry continues to grow in volunteers and customers. We estimate that the pantry has served well over 3000 of our neighbors since it opened in April 2011 and in continues to provide bags of food to families in need. Food donations for the Pantry are accepted whenever the doors of the church are open.
We’re a vibrant church family that continually welcomes newcomers, visitors, Active Duty and Retired Military, and anyone who wants to experience the love of Christ or learn more about the Christian faith.
