B Street Food Pantry
The B Street Food Pantry is a community partnership that provides food and offers donated clothing to residents in the 80906 and 80905 zip codes, and any Active Duty Military regardless of residence.
The Food Pantry is located inside Stratmoor Hills Community Center. It began out of concern for the neighborhoods surrounding the Community Center. There are a disproportionate number of low-income households, single parents, and female head of households.
Both the Community Center and the Food Pantry aim to enhance the quality of life for people of all ages and abilities by implementing diverse and inclusive programs, facilities and services.
They develop creative solutions to address core, basic needs of area residents and improve the quality of life in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Through unique partnerships with neighborhood associations, churches, schools, non-profit agencies, private businesses and government, Stratmoor Hills Community Center creates an environment for learning, recreation and personal growth.
The purpose of the Food Pantry is to bridge the gap between hunger and abundance by engaging members of the community to provide food assistance to underserved residents of Southwest Colorado Springs.
Both the Food Pantry and Stratmoor Hills Community Center run entirely on volunteer support.
